Step 1 The introduction to the text
Before going for vacation, we should pack something useful. What is necessary to a beach vacation？ I think we should take sunglasses, bathing suits, sun cream and beach towels if we go to the beach for vacation. A camera and a guidebook are necessary for a city vacation. For someone who loves music, whenever they go for vacation, they must take their favorite CD. Do you know a lot about the band named Apple Ice Cream and New Ocean Waves？Either of them has their own concerts. They are famous on the music scene.
Step 2 Language points
I．Key words
1．water
（1）n. 水；水面；（江、河、海等的）水域
Humans need water to cook and do some washing.
drinking water, running water, save water, water pollution, by water
Under the water there are many living things.
Be careful, don’t fall into the water.
Can plants live in the waters of the Dead Sea？
（2）v. 给……浇水；给动物水喝；给……供水
Young trees should be watered often.
My uncle is watering the horse.
The fields are watered by the river nearby.
2．wood n. 木头；木材
Is the toy made of wood？
How many pieces of wood have you collected？
拓展：
（1）woods 小树林
Some birds are singing in the woods next to the park.
（2）wooden 木制的；木头似的
Some wooden chairs are in the room.
The lead singer in the band is wooden.
3．light v. 点燃；点着；照亮
Could you please help me light the candles？
He offered me a cigarette and lighted/lit it.
The fire couldn’t light.
Mike put a lighted candle on the cake.
I am afraid to walk in badly lit streets.
4．farm n. 农场；农庄；养殖场
It is fun to work on the farm.

5．award n. 奖赏；奖金；奖品
The government gives awards to the scientists who make great contributions to the country.

6．hit
（1）v. 打击；碰撞。注意它的过去式和过去分词分别是：hit, hit。
His parents used to hit him.
The stone hit Jack on the head.
（2）n. 成功且轰动一时的事物
a hit record, a hit band, a hit show
Does the singer have a hit song this year？
Over the years, the director has made several hit movies.
7．appear v. 出现
The rain stopped and the sun appeared.
A bus appeared around the corner of the street.

（1）appear 显得；好像，同义词是seem。
Maria appears unhappy about the exam result.
Mr. Li appeared not to sleep well last night.
（2）disappear v. 消失
The smoke disappeared at once.
8．off
（1）adv. & adj.（空间上）离开的；下（交通工具）；脱掉；（机器）不在工作；休息
Mom, I am off.
Joe’s grandparents died when he was off on a business trip in the USA.
He drove off without saying good-bye.
Did you notice Helen get off？
The boy took off the shoes before entering the room.
All the lights in the buildings are off.
She will take one day off tomorrow.
（2）prep. 离开；隔着；从……中脱落
I’ll get off the train at Beijing Railway Station.
Keep off tigers. They are dangerous.
Dave fell off the bike yesterday.
Ⅱ．key phrases
1．clean out 清除；把……（从里到外）打扫干净
My mom cleans out the drawers every day.
It’s your turn to clean out the cupboard today.
拓展：clean up 打扫；清除干净
Tomorrow we’ll clean up the beach/the city parks.
2．get back to 过一会再和某人联系；回到某事上
—Is there a train ticket to Beijing tomorrow？

Ⅲ．key sentences
Be sure not to miss them if they come to a city near you—if you can get tickets, that is.
如果他们来到你附近的城市演出，千万不要错过了。——那就是说如果你有票的话。
Q：句中的that is是省略句吗？
A：是，完整的句子是that is to say。意思是“那就是说”。
You will find Jenny very helpful—if she isn’t too busy, that is.
You are allowed to watch TV—if you finish your homework, that is.
Ⅳ．Grammar 现在完成时
一．何时需要用现在完成时
判断现在完成时的关键词有：already/yet, just, never, ever, before, recently, so far, these days, in the past/last＋时间段, once/twice/three times… since, for.
e.g.I have already finished my homework.
Maria has just returned from Cuba.
Jane has never been to Tibet.
Have you read this book before？
So far we have held four birthday parties successfully.
In the past two years, he has collected 200 old coins.
These days I haven’t seen Mr. Zhang.
The Harry Potter books have been pretty popular since they were published.
二．现在完成时和一般过去时的区别
1．现在完成时表示过去发生或者已经完成的某一动作对现在造成的影响或者结果，强调的是现在的情况。不能直接和表示过去的时间连用（last…, yesterday, …ago）。
2．一般过去时只是表示过去某一时间发生的动作或者存在的状态，强调过去的情况，和现在没有联系。可以和表示过去的时间连用。
e.g.I have just been to a shopping center with Michael.
（已经买了东西）
I went to a shopping center with Michael two days ago.
（只说我去购物了，不涉及现在的情况）
