Step 1 The introduction to the text
In the daily life, sometimes we get hurt by accident. Many of us don’t know how to deal with accidents. So it is necessary for us to read the book named What Would You Do If… Mr. Robinson, the writer of the book, tells us to press the cut with a clean cloth and press it hard if we cut ourselves by accident. He advises us not to do exercise if we injured our knees while running. In the book, Mr. Robinson also introduces a lot of good solutions to some problems He asks teenagers not only to refuse smokers’ cigarettes but also tell them dangers of smoking. He suggests teenagers should meet Internet friends with the company of others.

7．offer v. 提供

8．refuse v. 拒绝
Jenny refused my birthday gift.

9．helpful adj. 对……有帮助的
He offers us much helpful advice.

It is helpful for teenagers to read this book.

Ⅲ key sentences
First find out how bad it is.
首先查看情况有多严重。
Q：句中how引导的是宾语从句吗？为什么how不单独使用呢？
A：（1）how bad it is是宾语从句。how在宾语从句中单独使用意思是“怎么样”，表示方式。
Could you tell me how you improve English?
（2）How + adj./adv.可以引导宾语从句，表示“多么”。
You can’t believe how quickly my English has improved.
He told me how much he loved swimming.
We can’t believe how beautiful Sanya is.
IV Grammar 条件状语从句
1．引导条件状语从句的连词有：if, unless, as long as
If it is sunny, we will go hiking tomorrow.
Unless you know the boy, I have to introduce him to you.
=If you don’t know the boy, I have to introduce him to you.
2．条件状语从句中主句和从句的时态搭配
如果主句的谓语是will/be going to构成的一般将来时态或者表示将来意义的动作，那么从句要用一般现在时态。
Please call me if Jane arrives.
Unless Jane can pass the exam, his parents will not be very excited.
